Initiatives, Campaigns & MilestonesIn 2011, ALDO launched a program called ALDO Rise that supported young, new and merging fashion designers by collaborating with the designer’s runways collections and giving them advice, expertise and knowledge in relation to shoe design and manufacturing. Some of the collections have been featuring in ALDO stores.2012 marked ALDO’s 40th year in the footwear and accessories business.This special year was marked through several pop-up shows in Canada along with a unique, limited edition tote bag that was handcrafted in Canada using vintage leather found in ALDO’s archives. In the year 2014, ALDO began an AIDS campaign, named #FriendsFight. ALDO created special friendship bracelets in partnership with Waris Loves You to be sold to customers. Within six weeks, the entire collection was sold out around the world. All proceeds were donated to Partners In Health. That same year, founder Aldo Bensadoun was chosen to be under the BOF 500 Hall of Fame for shaping the fashion industry.
